What size prefolds did you have?
I have 3 or 4 preemie ones and a bunch of newborn ones. My smallest baby was DD and she was 7 lbs 10 oz so I don't make little babies.

Re: Talk newborn to me...

I loved imagine nb aios, and cs bg aios too, but only after the cord fell off, those all lasted about a month for us, as my little guy was 8lbs. 12oz when born and 11.5lbs. At 1 month. I also loved bamboo prefolds (small worked for us) in Assunta tiny covers. Those lasted a little bit longer.

Re: Talk newborn to me...

Our LO was 3325g(approx 7lb3oz) and the FuzziBunz XS fit perfectly. We only had one and I wish we'd had many more. We also used the NB simplex but I wish I'd either prepped them more or used a nappy safe fabric softener (like ecover) because the inner cloth is always stiff. We rack dry instead of using a tumbler. Might be softer if you use a tumbler. The fit, however, was great and they still fit her now at 7 weeks on the biggest popper setting.

I'm planning on just using flats (or maybe prefolds) and Thirsties Duo (size 1) covers until baby can fit into Grovia shells.

Fuzzibunz XS are my favorite NB diaper for sure. And also the newborn BG are great.
And yes Thirsties duo size 1s are wonderful as well!

These worked perfectly for my 7lb 6oz son.

Re: Talk newborn to me...

goodmama fitteds and geffen baby flats with zookaboo covers fit us right away. So did nana's bottoms newborn and ragababes newborn. A little later we loved softbums and swaddlbees simplex newborn. I also liked our small bamboo terry prefolds.

Re: Talk newborn to me...

You can find custom THX or Happy Flute Tiny Fit (same design) with a pocket opening in the back for extra stuffing, though they are so tiny that they are a pain to stuff. The Alva newborn inserts will fit because they are so narrow.

The Alva newborn pockets with velcro (not snaps, those suck) are pretty good if you stick a good insert in there.

Simplex are good but pricy. I wasn't impressed with the XS BGs, they were just OK.

I am loving the Happy Flute newborn AIOs with pocket (the ones that are cut like an Alva, not the Tiny Fit ones), they still work great at 6mo with my 14.5lb long and skinny daughter and in an emergency I was able to make one work on my toddler son.
