Question Best Newborn Diaper?

I'm hoping to cloth diaper from birth (or as soon as we get home) but I'm not sure what to get. I plan on using Grovia AI2 but I'm not sure that they will fit a newborn. Does anyone know if using a flat or prefold in it will work? If not what cover is best for a newborn? I'm in Canada if that makes a difference. Thanks!

I don't have experience with grovia AI2s.

I like imagine newborn prefolds and rumparooz newborn covers. I have heard good things about proraps. Congratulations!!! Amanda: Christ follower, wife to a good looking genius, mom to 5 sweet girls and 1 tough baby boy.

Re: Best Newborn Diaper?

I like these:

XS ME Sandy's Bamboo fitteds. I have used these and loved them!
Wool longies and covers. Love them!
Bamboo prefolds in NB or SM: Imagine for tiny baby, DR for average or larger baby.
Not sure which covers, but I am thinking Thristies Duos, hoping Flip comes out with a NB cover because I prefer snaps. Econobum has one, but it is sold as a kit.
Interested in the new GroVia NB AIO, also interested in the Imagine bamboo AIO.
I hear a lot of mamas mention Swaddlebees Simplex NB AIOs. They fit a long time and seem to work really well.
I may also grab some XS GMD workhorse fitteds. They are come in white or organic cotton. They are 5.50 for the organics.

More ideas: Bummis Superbrite XS are tiny and work well on little newborns.
Rumparoos NB covers look super cute. I am not sure if the elastic will leave marks though.
Little Joey's NB AIOS- these are also pretty tiny so they will not fit as long as the Simplex from what I have heard.
KL0 are a classic fitted.
Bumgenius NB AIOs are another one I hear mentioned. I had some and didn't use them because I was concerned that the velcro would rub the cord area, but they were very tiny and cute. I think you may have to add a doubler with these after a few weeks.

Thanks!

If AIOs were cheaper I would go with those but I just hate to spend that much for something that won't be worn long.

I'm going to check out some of those covers.

CDs are soooooooo much fun

Re: Best Newborn Diaper?

If you have fb, you can look through Grovias photos. They have some pictures of newborns wearing their Velcro ai2, and they seem to provide a pretty great fit.

Are you using their bamboo prefolds or their snap in soakers? I know you can get 12 prefolds and 3 shells for about $86 in Canada.

For the newborn phase, I'd do prefolds and covers. Newborns grow so quickly, if you don't have a ton of money to spend, prefolds are an excellent option. Grovias size 1 prefolds are so soft and perfect for a newborn. You could snappi them and pair them with a NB cover (something like old style xs thirsties or size 1 duos which are both on clearance right now)

The Grovia beside the pamper looks really big......

I'm thinking of using flats, I think I will like them better than prefolds. Maybe with the Thirsties Duo size 1?

Re: Best Newborn Diaper?

Thirsties Duo 1's were awesome, they went down to super small, but still fit for a few months. I used premie prefolds at first, then infant prefolds for the next bit.
