When did morning sickness start for you?

I'm pregnant with #2 and dreading, dreading, dreading morning sickness. With my first it was borderline HG... I was miserably sick for 16 weeks and ended up losing 10 lbs. I'm now aprox 4 weeks I guess... Due on July 6th and I'm so nervous. I haven't been sick yet but I'm wondering when it starts for most mamas.

Mine doesn't start until about 6-8 weeks. Then it lasts until around 15 weeks. It's never been horrible for me though.

Usually around the 4 week mark. First time wasn't insanely bad, second time was bad until 20 weeks. The third time wasn't so bad, just insanely starving alllll the time! This time, I noticed feeling sick all day a week before I got a +. And it hasn't let up. No puking, but I feel like I am about to all day long.

3-4 weeks, still going strong at 19. I was really sick for a week (vomiting that could only be fixed laying flat and I started napping with my toddler, I never nap not pregnant) before I tested. I had an IUD. When I had an ultrasound a few days later they couldn't see anything and told me there was a 'blip' in my uterus which may or may not have been a yolk sac.

Re: When did morning sickness start for you?

Started at 4-6 weeks and lasted about the first trimester with my first two.
DD1 -- just mornings, mild queasiness
DD2 -- all day, a general car-sick feeling. Snacking helped, I lived on yogurt & granola.

This time I kept waiting for it to hit and it never did! I had an occasional queasy feeling but I wouldn't say I really had any morning sickness this time around. So, maybe you'll be lucky this time too?

Re: When did morning sickness start for you?

Between 4-6 weeks for me. I was HG with all three pgs.

Since you were borderline last time, I would suggest you get on meds NOW. Early treatment is the best prevention method. I know Diclectin isn't sold in the USA now, but I think there is something similar (vit B6 + something) that is almost the equivalent. Can you get a Rx for that now? Were you medicated last time?

Also, I found it helpful to do the following while dreading the coming sickness:
* arrange back-up care for your other kid(s) to be on-call
* make freezer meals for easy dinner prep
* stock your pantry with low-smell, non-nauseating foods (if you can think of any - just so you can still prepare food for you/your kid even while sick
* clean all the toilets & make sure each one has a brush ready to re-clean nearby, have towels ready for your knees by each toilet so they aren't bruised after the first week
* get puke-buckets ready on all levels of the house/by the bedside
* hold on for a crappy ride, but hope for the best if you can anyways

I hope this pg is easier on you, mama!

I had mild morning sickness from about 7-11 weeks with my first. With my second it was awful, I was puking (even with Zofran) from before I got a positive test until after 20 weeks. I had a few days of nausea scattered throughout the first tri with my third, but never got really sick with him at all.
