Tricks to keep shoes on in car?

As hoping my little guy would outgrow this before winter lol. Anyone find any type of shoe or a trick to get them to stop taking shoes off between every stop of a car ride? (20 months ) it's getting cold!

Distraction sometimes helps.

So does allowing the child to put shoes on and off and home (loses some of its newness).

It's a battle I don't fight anymore. I'm not willing to stop and correct every single time for shoes. Hitting, yes. Taking shoes off, no.

Re: Tricks to keep shoes on in car?

I just put shoes on in the car, especially in winter! Wet boots all over the seats? No thank you! I leave them on a towel and put them on when we get out of the car.

I'd love to hear if you find something that works other than loss of privileges.

My two are 2 & 4 & they do it EVERY TIME WE GET IN THE CAR.

Good luck. If you find a solution, let me know. My 8 year old takes her shoes (and socks) off in the car all the time. When she runs out of socks, I simply go out to the car and look beneath the seats and am bound to find several pair.

We did you got an M&M if your shoes were still on when we got there. It worked sometimes.

Time. I just left extra time and they grew out of it. Wasn't a battle I wanted to fight, too many others going on

Re: Tricks to keep shoes on in car?

We get out of the car whenever we get where we are going , shoes on or not. It took a couple of times of having to walk across our gravel drive-way or through the mud before they decided it was better to keep them on.
