Flour sack towels make great flats and you can get a 24 pk at SAM'S CLUB for around $20 . You can also get a 5 pk at Walmart for around $5 and Target has some as well.

I bought a 5 pack of flour sack towels at Walmart for 5 dollars and they work fabulously as pad folded flats!

Will the flower sack towels work as flat diapers and not just pad folded?

yep we only use flour sack towels (or Ikea burp cloths) as our flats. And we (well my dad) do kite fold when dd was smaller.

The Sam's Club ones work just fine either way, though you may need a doubler for a heavy wetter if you dont padfold. They are rectangular, not square, so you fold them a little differently than square flats. We love ours and use them all over the house in addition to diapering.

Target circo recieving blankets are great. Cotton babies are fairly inexpensive and diaper junction has a % off if you fill out a review

I just bought the 5-pack from walmart and also found a 3-pack of colored ones that were on clearance for $3 too.
