EXACTLY. He only comes to visit his son, we don't live together. UGH I'd like nothing more than to just "visit" some days.

And this week my son was diagnosed with ADHD and oppositional defiant disorder.

Hugs momma. ADD and ODD? How are you going to work with this? I've seen lots of kids really come around with a change in diet and therepy (more for the odd). That's a lot for one young momma to take care of. I don't remember if you said you lived with your parents or not... but do you have any help?

Not at all mama. I know this morning when i was cleaning up spilled milk for the third time in 10 minutes I was having those very same thoughts.
But we love them and they make life interesting. My husband says think of how bored we'd be without them lol.

I live with my parents and thankfully they will take him off my hands for about 15 minutes sometimes [[my son and Dad share the same love for gardening]].

Right now we're trying counseling for ODD ... slowly trying diet changes. I just can't really take much more. I SPANKED him the other night, which made me feel like #1 Worst Mom. I never spank! I just lost it.

My feet would have less work to do, though I would indeed be bored!

Re: Am I a bad mom?

I am in college so most people I know have no kids. So on bad days when they are going out to party I sometimes wish I could to.

Re: Am I a bad mom?

I never understood people thinking like that...Until lately! Especially now she's crawling and squirmy and biting and everything. It's like, "Can you just sit in your playpen while I lock myself in the bathroom?!" And I'm realizing lately things, too, like going to the pool, where I wish I could just sit back and relax and not chase her everywhere! I guess there are a lot of things I never appreciated (umm, sleep, eating before feeding everyone else, not having to do 1,000,000 loads of laundry, not having to pack for Armageddon everytime I leave the house, etc) before having kids. And I love her so much and wouldn't change a thing about my life now, but I do wish sometimes I could go back and enjoy a little time to myself. It's probably a little worse for the young mommies who missed out on a lot of "me time." I went straight from a child to a Mom, with no transition (as did you), and that's rough any way you cut it. You're not a bad Mom.

My DS was almost diagnosed with the same two disorders But fortunately on the retest I was told he was a normal 4 year old boy (at the time he was 4) and to just find a new preschool. So in a way I know what you are going through and my heart goes out to you mama You are a great mama
