Have any of you ladies had VBAC?

I am wondering if it is possible to have natural childbirth after 2 C-Sections? There is only 1 hospital that would allow it in my state, but what about the natural birthing center? Anybody done this? Premature because I am not pregnant...yet

I haven't personally, but I have a girlfriend who had c's for her first third and fourth babies. All the rest of her 8 were vaginal births. I talked to a lady today who had 2 c's then a home vbac. Yes, it is totally possible and still safer for you than a repeat c.

Re: Have any of you ladies had VBAC?

Im having a natural VBA2C!!!!!!!

my old OB let me attempt VBAC but said he wouldnt induce me in any way, shape or form, well then i needed to be induced due to failure to progress and he said too bad and gave me a c-sect.
well the same idiot told me at my 1st OB apt this pregnancy id have a automatic 3rd c-sect no matter what. I can come in there in active progressing labor and it didnt matter.

So i got online literally and yahoo searched VBAC OB in Cincinnati,OH and found Dr.Bowen and LOVE HIM! i also found a doula who works with him and she had a VBA2C with dr.Bowen so i feel good about it!

keep searching mom- itll happen!

ahh see here when i had joe even with 8yos after the c-sec i had to go see a specialist who had to clear me to have one THEN i had to sign my life away basically.

now sadly my local hospital dosent allow them anymore. i could drive 45min south of me if i want to put down a $2000 non refundable deposit to keep the needed staff on call in case of a c-sect. OR i drive 2 hrs west and have one for free.

basically neither was an option so i found a local licensed MW

Yes!!! I have had a VBAC! It is totally possible, and safer to do so. Visit www.ICAN.org, they have a whole bunch of helpful information! It is actually illegal for a hospital to "ban" VBACs, and no one can force you to have one! However, if you are already considering a birthing center or home birth, then I say go for it! Your chances of unneccarry interventions goes way down! Good luck!

Re: Have any of you ladies had VBAC?

I had a beautiful and glorious HBAC and would NEVER change a thing about it!!!!! I have my birth story posted in the Mothering.com forums and you'll find lots of mamas there that are wanting or have had VBACs You're awesome to research this now! VBA2C are totally fine and SOOOOOO rarely as dangerous as a C-Section! Scare tactics from hospitals makes me want to puke. I hate that they get to choose what can be risked and what can't (like what about the risks involved with a C-Section? Oh those are fine because they mean more $$$ and don't look as liable I guess if something goes wrong since... well it IS surgery, right? *eyeroll*..... but the much smaller risk of maternal or fetal death by vaginally delivering as opposed to the surgery? WON'T even consider looking into that! I prefer a care provider that gives ME the choice - which is why we went with our WONDERFUL homebirth midwives!)
