it's pretty gender neutral to me. But I put my daughter in batman and thomas the train, too. lol

I would use it for a boy hey if you love it buy it your son isn't going to care he just needs a place to pee and poop you keep them covered up in clothing anyway and men wear ties that have prints like that and Hawaiian shirts with flowers. So no biggie he's a baby go for it.
