Powder??

I lent a friend an overnight diaper and she asked if she could use powder with it. I have never used any sort of baby powder on my lo, so I'm not sure...is baby powder ok for dipes? Does it was out? I don't want to ruin my diaper that I lent out.

Please no discussion on the actual use of baby powders on LOs...that is her choice not mine and I'm not going to start a debate about powder...just want to know if its cloth diaper safe.

Thanks

I personally would ask her not to. I've never used powder with cloth. YDD needed some aquaphor and powder at a couple weeks old and we just used a disposable.

Isn't powder what they used to use back in "the day"? When they didn't have disposibles or fancy diaper creams? I would think it would be fine, but I'm not sure so its up to you!

Good point. If it's a plain cornstarch powder, I guess it should be fine. I know some cloth mamas used burnt flour as a powder.

The baby powder has talc and some company's say it will void warranty ie cotton babies. But I have used it on a occasion without incident. I use Argo now which is great as long as you don't have a yeast problem

Not all baby powder is talc. It's actually less common than cornstarch baby powder now.... I think it's something to do with inhaling talc being bad..?

Re: Powder??

I have used powder with no issues (monkey butt, baby monkey butt, Caldecene, j&j cornstarch and gold bond baby). Gramma likes to use powder at diaper changes so I would use whatever she had at her house
