People were using dishwasher detergent on their diapers? I completely missed the memo on this one, I only just saw the tweet. Does anyone know what the deal is with this?

I wash my diapers & all laundry with Dawn. Everything comes out clean and super fresh and all of the fabric is silky soft now that I regularly use that and nothing else.

No, I've heard about dawn, this was about dishwasher detergent. I'll see if I can edit the post.

Re: Whoaaa!

Context?

Sometimes it's used as part of stripping, but then I do mine in a bucket rather than the washing machine.

Ahhhh okay! Yea that is crazy. I saw someone mention it on here too. Something about it having the same ingredients as RLR.... But quantity of each ingredient is why RLR works! Not just any old concoction thrown together. Ftr, I love RLR.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link to blogs on here? It was a tweet with a link from Jennifer Labit. Her other tweet makes way more sense now.

Do you have any idea how long people have been doing this? Is this a new thing?

Re: Whoaaa!

I have been around a while and for a while everyone stripped diapers in the dishwasher , now everyone uses cascade .. I will stick with hot water and tide and I have no issues!! I will not use Dawn in a machine either but to each their own.

Nope. No clue.
I heard a few years back that people would strip the stinkies from towels with Cascade. I've also seen people say that it tore their towels up. I would think that it would be terrible for every component of a diaper.
