When do you worry about blood pressure?

My blood pressure is always golden. It's usually around 100/60 and occasionally as high as 110/70. Most of the day today at work, I had a terrible headache. I thought I was getting a migraine, but it never really turned into one, just a bad headache. I decided to swing by my parents' house on the way home to use my mom's BP monitor and it was 133/93. I don't think I've ever seen my BP that high. I know that's not crazy high for most people, but its certainly out of the norm for me. I waited about 10 minutes and checked again; it was down just a bit. I can't remember the numbers now, but it had come down a little. I brought the monitor home with me. After laying down for a while, it was 118/74. Since its coming down, I don't think its urgent enough to call tonight, but how big a deal is high blood pressure? Since it's come back down close to normal, should I be worried?

Re: When do you worry about blood pressure?

I would keep an eye one it for sure! And I would probably call OB tomorrow just to be on the safe side. but I would definitely call if it does that again. I hope it was just a fluke and everything goes back to normal tomorrow! try to get some good sleep!

Re: When do you worry about blood pressure?

I don't have an exact answer, but I know increased blood pressure in pregnancy is relevant to each person. I have similar normal blood pressure levels as you and made a mental note of my friend's situation when her low blood pressure rose a significant amount (but not high by most people's standards) at the end of her pregnancy. Anyway, just call your doc so s/he is informed to be on the safe side.
