Also I was thinking of using chia seeds?? Would that work or should I just get flax? Or both?? Guess I need smoothy making for dummies 101!
try near the peanut butter.

I would try both. Chia seeds soak up liquid and turn into a cool tapioca pudding consistency after about four hours in the fridge (yummy with coconut milk), he benefits of flax seed are the higher when you grind them into whatever you are eating.

Re: Must haves for smoothies

Our favorite strawberry smoothie:

1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup frozen strawberries

You can add honey, sugar or sugar substitute to taste, but we usually drink it just as is. You can also add banana or other fruits or some toasted pecans.

Does anyone know if they sell Chia seeds at Walmart or should I check at a grocery store?

For pumpkin pie it is pumpkin (canned), a frozen banana, spoon of flax meal, protein powder, vanilla extract, a little maple syrup and pumpkin pie spice. Sometimes I add some greens like Kale (I keep them in the freezer). Then just add milk and blend, you can add ice cubes too if you didn't use frozen bananas (I keep a bunch of over ripe bananas in the freezer). Banana Strawberry is just two frozen bananas, frozen strawberries (until it looks like enough) protein powder, a handful of greens and milk then blend. The chocolate is a little tricky but it is the one we drink almost every morning (all of the recipes actually make two large glasses because Tharen and I have smoothies for breakfast). One frozen banana, 4-5 frozen strawberries, protein powder, 3 spoonfuls of cocoa powder, maple syrup and enough Kale to fill the blender (I use a Ninja and use the largest of the pitchers) then add milk and blend. We love this, tastes like a frosty and I worry less about my son's veggie intake.
This pumpkin smoothie sounds amazing! I am definitely gonna try this one.

But I'm not sure I understand the difference between fruit juice and adding in maple syrup- sugar wise that is. As long as you're using real juice it's still natural sugar.

Sounds good! But why is it not healthy. If I made that, that would be the healthiest thing I ever drank

I do an allergy-friendly smoothie: frozen banana, sometimes a few frozen blueberries, coconut milk, flax oil, pea protein, sunbutter, sometimes a splash of vanilla extract, sometimes a little cocoa powder for a treat.
