Re: Taking Food to a Friend...

My sister came and loaded up our freezer before my c-section. My favorite things she made were vegetable quiche cups made in muffin tins, zucchini muffins, lentil soup, and cheddar biscuits, breakfast burritos/egg mc muffins.

The casseroles were nice for dinner, but I REALLY appreciated the more portable options. I needed things to eat throughout the day.

They sell those plastic takeout containers on amazon and they are amazing for freezing food in. Also, KABINET WAX is great for wrapping the mcmuffins and burritos before freezing.

I also was regularly buying that pre-cut fruit from whole foods in gigantic containers.

And make sure she has a water bottle with a lid and straw!

I was in a group doing this for a coworker this month. I sent cut pineapple and strawberries, cuties, baby carrots, and steam bag veggies (someone else brought casserole, salad, etc).

I'd also suggest cheese cubes, cherry tomatoes, veggies slices, bananas, apples, trail mix, granola bars, fruit leather, etc. Something easy to grab and go with a baby. Babies always want to eat at mealtime for me.
