Re: What do you pack in your diaper bag

When I'm packing my BFF for a day out, I stick a flip pre-stuffed with a diaper safari insert and an extra insert in each of the pockets on the back wall. This gives me the whole open part of the bag and two side pockets to still pack. I used to use AIOs and pockets in my diaper bag, but AI2 systems just take up so much less room.

You will find as your baby gets older that you won't need as many changes, so I wouldn't worry about how much room you will need when they start solids. When my DS hit a year, I didn't need all the room in a BFF and easily downsized to a hobobe for most trips. I still use my BFF for days out.

Really I must be the lamest of mothers. Or maybe i don't expect to be out of the house that long.

One diaper, some wipes and a quart size ziplock. Sometimes a snack, depending on how long I'm out. All put in my handbag (admittedly large enough to carry something this size anyway).

I keep a spare set of clothes in my car.

When my guy was a newborn I had the skip hop studio and I packed it to bursting 6 diapers two outfits. Nursing cover cell wallet. Keys pacifiers toys medicine pouch and bibs. So many bibs lol

I bought the jujube when he was 5 months old hoping it would e bigger. It actually holds the same amount but I love the extra pockets and mommy pocket and the backpack option.

Now that he's older 14 months. I pack 1 grovia shell (2 if he's not in one when we go out.) and an extra snap in insert. Wet bag One outfit in the zipper under the picture slots. One naty baby disposable just in case. A few toys 2 books. A sippy cup. A pouch. A bib teething tabs and wipes. Oh and sometimes a blanket. In addition I have a tote in the car stocked with three cloth and 3 naty baby diapers. A burp rag flat. Food jar and empty pouch. Water bottles. Extra outfit blanket. Swim diaper. Sunscreen. Medicine. So. I'm over prepared but I love that my bag isn't bursting anymore. And I don't have to pack the bag differently for all day bc the car has it all

Re: What do you pack in your diaper bag

I don't have a diaper bag.. I just use any of my purses, which are all large totes.

For a few hours:
- a wet bag with 2 diapers & wipes in it for my 3 month old
- a wet bag with a spare set of clothes for my 3 month old
- a water bottle & small snack for my 2 year old
- my wallet, phone, keys and usually some carmex and hand lotion.

For a day trip I add a few more diapers, another set of clothes and maybe some more snacks for my toddler.

Re: What do you pack in your diaper bag

Bag is normally packed with...
2 AIOs or pockets
1 med wet bag
8-9 wipes (sometimes dry- I have a tiny spray bottle in the bag, or sometimes wet)
Sample size butt cream
Small sunscreen or lotion (seasonal)
1 backup outfit
1 snack (usually a squeezy packet so I can leave it in there and forget about it- we rarely break into it)
Spoon and bib
Small board book
Changing mat
Sippy cup
Plus, my wallet, and once we get somewhere, hats, mittens, etc.

If we'll be out the whole day, I throw in another couple diapers. Like PPs have said, I do as many diapers as I think we'll need for the time, plus one.
We have a Kelty diaper bag. Love it- it's pretty small so it forces me to pack light.

Re: What do you pack in your diaper bag

We've never gone out for more than a few hours, and baby is still EBF, so we don't need a lot... Right now I have in it one OBGE and a few disposables, a small wet bag, a pack of disposable wipes, a few small burp cloths, and a couple of spare onesies. And the change pad that goes with the bag.

I have the JJB BP. A standard pack from back to mommy pocket is:

Back pocket: Changing pad and medium wet bag

Main pocket:
3 prefolds for ds1
3 workhorses for ds2
1 cover for ds1
2 covers for ds2
10+ wipes (for changes, dirty hands, spills, or spit-ups)
Change of clothes for ds2 and occasionally a change for ds1 depending on where we're going/what we're doing
Travel size hand sanitizer
Sample size cj's monkey farts
Pacifier
1 car toy for ds1
Lunch bag (fuel cell) with snacks for ds1

Front pocket:
1-3 books for the boys
Possibly my kindle and/or tablet

Mommy pocket:
Registration/proof of insurance
Wallet
Keys
Phone
Sunglasses
ChapStick
Coupon keeper

And then a sippy cup and my water bottle in the side thermal pockets. Ds2 is ebf so no bottles or anything for him.

Ooh question! Question!
Do you think two fuel cells, 2 AIO for toddler plus three for newborn, plus sippy cup and one change of clothes per kid could fit into a be prepared? I need to be able to go full day out of the house a couple times a month and will need to have snacks for toddler plus DH plus expressed breastmilk so I'm thinking two fuel cells. I can't get a straight answer if this will fit.

Right now I use a huge Marc Jacobs beach bag for my diaper bag but I want more pockets.
