CAn lack of sleep make you miss your period?

I'm two weeks late and never have been. DH got a vasectomy, so I'm not terribly worried that I am pregnant, but you never know. I'm 40, so things can be beginning to shift, I'm sure, but it would be the first time. The only time I've missed a period was when I was pregnant - all fives times that we conceived. I'm finishing an overnight postpartum twin job next week, but my hours have been like this: up off and on (mainly up) from 10 to 6 am, sleep for two hours, get up, go back down for a little nap in the afternoon and start all over again the next day.

I'm exhausted.

I'm a little freaked thinking I might be preggers. I should just get a test. But lack of sleep can do this, right? Please say yes.

my dad had a vasectomy oh about 6 months b/f my mom got pg with me. if he has been hit with anything there (yes including your dc's heads....my oldest sister headbutting him caused my dad's to reverse lol...i'm all her fault !) there is a good chance his reversed. and yes this can happen at any point in time after one. i have a few friends who all have vase-babies. their dh's go to get it checked on and sure enough....shooting live ones lol.

When did the job start? Stress and lack of sleep won't delay AF if it occurs after ovulation, or during the last two weeks (give or take a day). Stress and outside factors only affect the length of your cycle BEFORE ovulation. So, if you were losing sleep a few weeks ago, then absolutely, it could throw you off a few days or more. If it's just been recently, though, than no- your luteal phase is a set number and isn't affected by stress.

It's not unusual, even for women who are very regular, to have an off month Totally normal. That said, if AF hasn't shown soon, you might want to test just to be sure GL!

Re: CAn lack of sleep make you miss your period?

My luteal phase is always 14 days because I normally ovulate on day 10. I started this job on April 29 and my LMP was April 21.

Thanks for answering gals.

I think I'll get a test when I go to work in a few minutes. I have to rule this out.

Gosh, when I do get it, it is bound to be a good one, huh?

I think it's the stress.

like the pp said, stress cannot delay AF, but it can delay ovulation (which in turn delays AF, kwim).

With you being that much late, I'd definitely test, just to rule it out.

Took a test - negative. So, it must be the stress or the beginning of something more to come.
