FTM looking for Boppy Opinions

Wondering peoples opinions of Boppy and the different versions/options.

I wasn't really planning on using a breastfeeding specific pillow but had put a travel one on my registry.

My sister (PA) is now INSISTING on buying me one to have at the house but I have NO idea which variety would be the best option for us? Bare naked vs original vs new two sided?

Thanks!

I must admit I never found it useful for breastfeeding. I have a long torso and boppy would need to be twice as thick. But I had two and loved them. They are great for propping up the baby or anywhere you might want and extra pillow. I put it between my knees at night when I was healing from childbirth.

Re: FTM looking for Boppy Opinions

I think boppy original and boppy bare naked are the same. Bare naked just doesn't have a slip cover. I found a boppy pretty useful, but I haven't tried anything else. I have a long torso but large breasts so it has worked well for me. It makes nursing pretty much hands free for me, even though DS doesn't have good head/neck control yet.

I like my two sided boppy a lot for different situations around the house. One is pillow surface and the other side is flatter, so depending on where I sit I can adjust his body to have more/less give while laying on his side. I also like the strap so it tightens closer to your body. Their customer support is awesome. Ours was a hand me down that was missing the strap, but they express mailed us a new one for free and it's really helpful with that pillow. I haven't used the original boppy so I can't compare, just that I enjoy this one.

I used mine for nursing and always had a hard time nursing without it. I also used it to put around DS when he was just sitting up and would still fall sometimes so he would fall on the boppy instead of floor- I just had an off brand, but it was pretty much the same as the original

I use my boppy all the time...my babys eyes light up when she sees me with the boppy pillow because she knows it's time to eat. I'm average height and the pillow puts her right where she needs to be. I don't have to have it to nurse her, but it's really comfortable. We also use it to help her sit up now that she's almost sitting on her own, it pads her fall if she tips over.

If you do get a boppy, I recommend bringing it to the hospital with you for nursing. I was totally drained and exhausted after delivery and I think it would have been helpful while I was tired and learning to breastfeed.

I have a strong preference for the Breast Friend over the boppy. It has a strap and it more firm so it is actually useful. That being said, it doesn't do double duty on add many things, though we still have used it for letting the baby stand on, so she's not dangling in the play center thing, and other things like that.

I did find it useful for nursing BUT I also loved the other uses too! Best of all was setting on it while healing post partum & keeping you comfy & off those post partum stitches (not that I think OP will have stitches...let's hope not). It is also awesome for hemorrhoids, sciatica and tail bone pain. It works MUCH better than a donut pillow & so much more comfy. I have owned several & my dad stole one. LOL He loves it for sciatica.

I voted yes to the original boppy. Used it for nursing, propping baby up, when baby began to sit up. I also have a breast friends nursing pillow and a Jj cole one I dont like as much as a boppy
