How old is too old (for you, personally) to have a baby?

When I was younger, my cutoff age was 35. I'm older than that now and hope to have one more baby after this one, so I guess my cutoff age is 40 now.

No cut off age. I think health and family situation is more important than age.

This too. My personal cut off age used to be 30, but since I've had GD with the past two babies, they both were a month premature, and my youngest is facing a long NICU stay... I think I'm done at 26! I love babies and big families but hate everything else about pregnancy/ birth/ postpartum, so I think adoption may be in our future..

lightly said but "when my ob retires from his work for sure." I really like him a lot and It was hard enough to birth with my oldest without him (on vacation) compared to the 2 other really smooth and pleasant births with ob here.

With that said depends on health, financial situation as well.

I know my hubby said 30 was his and we met and married close to that. He was 28 (soon to be 29 as baby was born few days before his birthday) with first and the second he was 30. I don't know what would have happened if we hadn't met then and all...

Jomama2005- I am adopted and well for you to think about it I think is awesome. I too like the thought of a big family, but just unsure of the work that goes in to that big family as I am from a small family and it is getting really small fast.

Personally, 36 is the oldest I'd consider it. However, dh is almost 39 and he wants to be done with just the one. I've mentioned it here before that my mother gave birth to me at 40, so my life experience is a little different. I can understand my hubby's wishes to be done, although I sometimes think he might change his mind later on.

Right now, I feel that 30 is too old.

We want to be done by 30. My husband doesn't have many memories of his grandparents and its important to us to try to have our kids now while our parents are in good health and while I still have grandparents who are well so that our kids can have fond memories of all of them.

I've had my kids spread pretty far apart. I'm almost 40 and being pregnant with these last two has been a lot harder on my body than when I was young! I'm done after this one for sure!

Tam+Alvin=DS 24 yrs old, DD 15 yrs old, DS 2 yrs old & DD coming Oct 2014!

I am 39, and I do not feel old at all. DH and I are open to have more children. This has been my easiest pregnancy!
