I'm sorry if I made you feel bad. If it makes you feel any better I have an irritable uterus and have been having ctx since about 18 weeks this time around. I just mean the "real" ones will never start. Plus, both of my other two were born early so this is the most pg I've ever been. Again though, I'm really sorry for making you feel bad. I hope both our little ones come on out soon!

Re: when did contractions begin?

In the morning with my dd. I thought I just had a tummy ache...then had her 8 hours later (after I had eaten some lunch!).

Re: when did contractions begin?

When pregnant with DD, my contractions started at 4:30am. But they didnt start feeling like contractions until close to noon. They were just like "rushes" of cramps.

Re: when did contractions begin?

Contractions started in the evening prolly around 9pm or so. A 2am when my friends came to pick up their son I was in a ball on the couch and she asked how far apart my contractions where. They were like 5 minutes apart. My water broke around 5am or so, and I had DD#1 at 12:04pm.

Re: when did contractions begin?

I was induced for pre-e with DD, so I can't answer for myself, but I've read that natural oxytocin is more likely to be released, starting labor, at night. That's why if you're going to be induced, it's better to be started on the pit at night, but most drs/mws won't do that.

Re: when did contractions begin?

With ds2, I started with braxon hicks ctx first thing in the morning...but they didn't become painful (or 'real') until 7p. He was born at 12:23p the next afternoon.

Re: when did contractions begin?

For me, in the days prior to going into labor, my nightly walks would start the contractions. They would stop as soon as my walk was over, or shortly there after. I woke up about 4:00am in active labor, and had the baby by 12:00pm that day!

Re: when did contractions begin?

DS1 was induction but DS2 contractions started when I woke up early. They were not strong and very far apart so it could of been earlier/middle of the night.

Re: when did contractions begin?

Technically I had contractions the night of my due date around 8pm, had been walking at Walmart all day trying to get my huge baby out thought my water had broke so went to the hospital only to find out that I had pee'd on myself when dd kicked my bladder. Had 2 big contractions while there, was told to go home and that either labor will start or it won't. Woke up at 3am with regular painful contractions, at 5:30am I went in to the hospital and was admitted at 3 cm dialated. Had her at 8pm on the dot by unplanned c-section

Re: when did contractions begin?

With my first DD, the ctx's started right as I was going to bed, around 10:00 or so. I had her 48 hrs later.

Second DD is a little foggier. I honestly don't know when mine began because I had such a gradual evolution from steady BH's (for two+ weeks) to prodromal labor contractions (for 3-ish days), which at some point morphed into active labor contractions. There's no way for me to pinpoint the start of the different stages. The really nice part was that after my long, drawn-out early labor, I was lucky enough to sleep through my entire active labor.
