Oh no! My Luxe!!!~ Update Added :)

Okay... we just got a gorgeous Luxe pull-on in the mail for my son about four days ago. Yesterday, I had it on him while we were garage saling... and he had no pants over it. It was HOT.

Well... DH set him down in someone's slanted driveway and he plopped down hard on his beautiful wool bum... and the whole back of the Luxe now had ground-in driveway dirt.

Will this come out? I haven't tried yet, but he has a pair of shorties I knit for him that he wore at the park once--he got some dirt on them and they have never recovered.

Any tips for removing dirt from wool?

Ugh. Soooo depressing.

My wool has gotten dirt in them. I just gently hand wash them then let it soak for a long time. It got all the dirt out. Hope you can get it out. It's so hard with wool. You want your little one to be a baby and crawl around, but you don't want them to get dirty at the same time!

This is one reson why i gave up on wool (except for rarely around the house) i couldn't stand it getting dirty and spending so much.. we prefer pockets/AI2 anyway

Yeah, those interloc things seem to catch dirt like its nothing and we have hardwood floors and we ALL know how hardwood collects dust like there is no tomorrow!!!
What I usually do is I wet them down, get my wool wash bar, make a huge lather in my hands, and gentally wash the wool.... it usually does work...

Re: Oh no! My Luxe!!!

DD had a gigantic poop that got all over her light green Royal Rumps. The only thing that worked (yes it was a last resort) was to throw it in the washer (small load, cold, soak/prewash cycle w/ a little Dawn). It all came out and didn't shrink or felt. I know this is not recommended but it was either that or have bright yellow spots on her soaker.

Re: Oh no! My Luxe!!!

My DD plays in the garden in her interlock what I do to get the dirt out (works everytime!) is fill the sink with hot water & squirt some dawn dish soap in there then let it soak until the water is cold (every once in awhile rub the stain lightly) then rinse the dawn out and wash like your other wool.

I havent had a stain or dirt I couldnt get out that way!!

ETA: You can let it soak in the cold water too! I'll throw it in there then go run errands, etc and when I get back the water is usually brown
