Losing Milk Supply?

Ok I think I may be losing my milk supply heres why, I started giving dd solid food and since then she has been having a lot more trouble going to sleep, it takes forever to get her to go to sleep, she keeps nursing and nursing and my breasts feel completely empty long before she stops nursing. It used to take like 10 minutes and she was out. Also they used to feel full all the time and I always had to wear breastpads because of leaking but now I dont ever have to wear them and they dont really feel full. If my supply is down how do I know and what can I do to fix it? HELP!! Thanks!!

Re: Losing Milk Supply?

How many wet diapers does she have in a day? If she is having 4-5 wet diapers a day she is getting enough and is likely in the 6 month growth spurt. The solids may or may not be hurting the situation as well. My DS had trouble with solids at first too and we had to wait another week or two to start them up again because his tummy was just too sensitive. The other thing I can recommend is to do solids only at breakfast or lunch instead of at dinner time right now. It will help keep the tummy not so upset come bedtime (hopefully). Good luck. I would sit and nurse nurse nurse. Hopefully you will be through it soon!

Well she has at least 6 wet diapers a day, so thats a good sign, and I dont give her dinner yet, she has breakfast and lunch but no dinner.
