When do you use lanolin spray?

I mostly use wool and I only wash them when they get soiled or start smelling funky which is about every 2-3 wks. I don't always lanolize until I feel the wool starts feeling wet after just a couple of hours of use or in the morning. I use regular liquid lanolin, soak it, etc.

A wonderful mama here sent me a couple of bottles of lanolin spray. When do you use it? Do you spray it when the wool start feeling wet in place of doing the whole lanolizing process or is this sort of an in between lanolizing thing? I don't always lanolize when I wash the wool as I only wash when they're soiled, not when they stop feeling waterproof. Should I use the spray instead of lanolizing even though I use wool wash that has 100% lanolin? Sorry for all the questions..just want to make sure I'm doing this correctly

I can answer but I have no clue if we're doing it right

I wash ours with lanolin wash, let it dry, and then spritz the wetzone on both sides with the liquid lightly and pat in.

Every third time or so I use the cover I give it a little boost. (but let the lanolin dry before wearing again, of course.)

I have some ordered, but have yet to get it, and this is what I was going to use it for. So, 2 clueless mamas agree

That's what I do too.

Well it sounds like that's a good way to use it then. Thanks mamas! I'll use it to give it a boost once in a while

But I really want to know if I need to lanolize it even if I use a lanolin wool wash.

Does the spray ever leave stains? I sometimes have a problem with little stain spots with liquid lanolin.

Yes. IME, there isn't enough lanolin in most washes to fully lanolize your wool. I'm confused by your wash with 100% lanolin comment earlier - if it is 100% lanolin, then it can't be a wash, it will just be pure lanolin, KWIM?? I usually use a wool wash, then when wool is damp, spritz in wet zones w/ the spray (on the inside of the wool), turn right side out and massage the spray areas a bit to spread it out and let dry. I probably use the spray every other time. HTH!

Re: When do you use lanolin spray?

I get ours from Ewe Need It on HC (she's "chicky" here on DS I think? Or "chickie"?)

Have not had any problems with stains and get a consistent fine mist. I did not have such luck with another type which decided to stream at one point.. onto my brand new Luxe. :headbash: So I stick with what I know!

I don't think you "need" spray lanolin, but I have a heavy wetter and it seems to help a lot.
