Question about UA births?

Do you go to a doctor during the pregnancy and just stay at home to deliver or do you just do nothing? I was just curious about this. My DH would like to do an UA next time we get pregnant, but didn't know how you go about the pregnancy. Thanks for any answers, Shelly

Re: Question about UA births?

Its strictly up to you. Some women do a couple of prenatals with a doc, some do all the prenatals with a doc, some see a midwife a few times, some quite scientificly do their own prenatals, and some take no action and just trust that they are fine. I was in the latter group. Its all about what you are most comfortable with.

The only thing I did during my pregnancy was, during my 8th month, I went to a clinic and had a pregnancy test done. Talk about funny, waddling in there for a pg test! It was required in my state to have "proof of pregnancy" to get the birth certificate without a ton of red tape.

I did not want to see a doctor or midwife during my pregnancy because I thought that it would stress me out and interfere with my ability to listen to my body and my baby.

Yep, totally up to you!
If you do opt for an unassisted pregnancy though, you may want to get yourself a blood pressure cuff and a doppler or fetascope to listen to baby. You can also get the strips to test your urine too, if you want.
