I just read somewhere that it has only been used on babies for 5 years....does that scare anyone else?

Re: is fleece really safe?

I've never read/heard anything that would make me think polyester could be unsafe or harmful, so no, it doesn't scare me. I'm actually a little more concerned about the PUL, but not enough to stop using it. It's not right against their skin, but I've wondered if it could give off any kind of fumes like other plastics.

she's saying its only been used as a diaper material for five years.

GMD has something about fleece- it says that there isn't any current research (or something like that) about fleece next to baby's skin, butthat it has to be better than the chemicals in disposables.

Re: is fleece really safe?

I read an article that at the very least made me stop and think http://www.diaperpin.com/clothdiaper...lmaterials.asp

DD is currently diapered in organic cotton fitteds with wool covers. We do have a few AIO's/pockets with a PUL outer, but they have organic cotton velour inners. I had some mama pads made of fleece and when wet, I found they made me itchy which cotton doesn't, so I figured best to keep cotton against DD's tush.
