UPDATE!!Baby robin/not a robin ~ PICS

Ok, my kids found a baby robin outside in the rain. Must have gotten dumped out of it's nest during our rain storm. It is drenched. It has a lot of feathers, but is still pretty young. Any advice?

UPDATE BELOW. Here are pics! What kind of bird do you think it is??
This is what he looked like when we brought him in:

This is what he looked like a little later after drying:

Re: Baby robin ~need advice

Well, not much can be done for it if it can't fly as of yet and the mother bird will reject it if you touch it.

I have had to take baby birds and bunnies to the animal hospital in circumstances such as that and they recommend euthanizing them since they are so small and their chances of survival are so low.

But the good part of that is, they won't suffer.

There are wildlife rescue groups that would probably take it. They could tell you how to at least.

We kept it in the house for about a half hour and let it dry off. It got all fluffy and has a yellowish head and belly, so not a robin. Anyway, it got totally dry and flew out of the box we had. I figured it was probably beginning to fly, so we took it back outside and it perched on my finger and then flew from me to the tree we found it by. Then if flew up each branch and then flew away to another tree!! Yay, he just needed to dry off!! Good ending

Yeah, it does look like that (a warbler) I thought it looked like a woodpecker too, but it is pretty small, and I would think a woodpecker would be bigger. This is another bird I thought it looked like.

Kinda fun trying to figure out what it is.
