Re: Ideal newborn stash (#)
My first stash included 12 diapers and three covers. It was totally adequate while I was getting used to how they worked, laundering, etc. Once I "got on my feet" with CDing he was outgrowing the diapers and I felt confident to try new things.
Good luck! Best wishes on your new baby!

Re: Ideal newborn stash (#)
Right now, I have 32 Newborn fitteds, 9 covers (small and newborn), 12 IPF, 2-3 small pockets (maybe more, planning on making a few) and 1-2 AIO's. I think it sounds pretty ideal, letting me skip a day of laundry (I hope!)

Re: Ideal newborn stash (#)
I have 14 fitteds, 2 AIOs and 8 covers (3 wool, 5 thirsties) and I can go all day and a night...I still use some sposies, so I guess about 10 more fitteds?
But I like to wash every or every other day

Re: Ideal newborn stash (#)
I'd like 2 dozen prefolds, 6 wool wraps, and 4 AIOs for the diaper bag.

Re: Ideal newborn stash (#)
In a perfect world?
Prefolds: 36 Fitteds: 12 PUL covers: 2 Wool wraps: 3 Wool longies/shorties: 4 Pockets: 6 My newborn could go through 24 dipes in a day... sometimes more. So I believe the more you have, the better off you are with a teeny one. I used pockets at night for the stay-dry factor, but in my "perfect world" list you could substitute 6 stay dry liners for pockets.
