fluffy baby shower help

I'm going to be hosting my first "fluff" baby shower in a few weeks. I'm so excited. Does anyone have any great ideas for me? I'm thinking for decorations having a little clothesline with prefolds pinned to it, with the letters B A B Y inbetween each prefold. (someone did this at my baby shower, except with onesies instead of prefolds. It was super cute) Mostly I want this shower to be about "nurturing" mama to be. She's going to be getting a henna tatoo on her belly too. Any ideas for favors??

I'm so not good with ideas but what you are talking about sounds great.
How about a diaper cake?

Well, I didn't have a shower with her, but I had a blessingway for Lena. Each guest was given two prayers candles, one for Lena's "birth day" cake and one to take home. Each person gave me a blessing as they put one candle in the "cake"", the other candle they took home to light for blessings for themselves or miss Lena when I was in labor. The candles that they were to take home were beautifully decorated. I LOVED that idea!! I still have Lena's "cake"

Wish I could get someone close to me to have a baby so I could hostess something for them

I had a lady make a tower out of prefolds. It looked more like a wedding cake with 3 tiers. She rolled each diaper up and then arranged them into circles tied with netting strips. She then filled in the gaps with things like pins, a comb and brush set, thermometer ect..

Thanks for all the great ideas ladies. THis will be more like a blessingway than a traditional baby shower. This is her fourth baby.

Well, I'm a rather practical momma...LOL I heard last month of somebody throwing a "frozen food" shower...everybody who came was asked to bring a frozen casserole or something in a non-returnable container...the momma ended up with like a month of meals in her freezer for after the baby came.

I thought it was a very practical way of nurturing...

Re: fluffy baby shower help

Actually, my invitations already say that. Well first of all, no gift is required. But they can bring some sort of cloth diapering item, or a meal for her to freeze. Glad great minds think alike. Also, I'm going to have a sign up sheet at the shower for people to leave their names and numbers if they can provide a meal after baby is born, and I'll be organizing that for her at the time. Food is ESSENTIAL for a new mom, especially a nursing one.
