Re: what to use on a newborn? (help!!)
ya know, I am not sure about the BG's? I like those, my SIl's have both ised them but the ones I currently have are smalls,...so i am not sure about the umbi notch.
See, thats what I want,...even just a day long stash for those first two weeks until that falls off. Do they make kissaluvs doubler in that size? I like to change about every 2-3 hours... but with a newborn I know that might be more often which is ok...I just want to pack the absorbency punch as much as possible. I'll look at the BG 2.0 nb, thanks for the idea ![]() Anyone else, feel free to add your 2 cents...I wanna check out all my options. Quote:

Re: what to use on a newborn? (help!!)
I LOVE my kissaluv 0s! However, at night I have to put a hemp doubler in, since he goes a bit longer being changed!

Why not get some preemie prefolds to use as doublers in your KL0s? They're super cheap to get and then you can use them as doublers in all your dipes. Also, why not get a Snappi? If you have preemie prefolds on hand and a Snappi you may just be tempted to try one out. I've heard great things about XS Very Baby AIOs. You could put up an ISO for those. They come in an awesome rainbow of colors too. Or what about XS or small Magicalls AIOs? They're fairly reasonably priced. You can cross over the snaps so the smalls would probably work fine, may be a little big, but would get you through a few weeks. You could also use a preemie prefold in those as a doubler in case they aren't absorbant enough. Hmm, what else? I'll keep thinking.

Re: what to use on a newborn? (help!!)
Motherease diapers makes a great newborn diaper. Sandy's, size xs. Cheaper than a KL's, and more absorbant too. Here's a link...you'll have to scroll down to see the right size/price.

Re: what to use on a newborn? (help!!)
My DH likes prefolding, as long as he gets his snappis...
I second the sandies xs. I also like the nana's bottoms nb and the xs bG AIOs if you are looking for more daddy friendly dipes!

Re: what to use on a newborn? (help!!)
I was thinking you could try converting some prefolds into fitteds. I know there are some places out there that would do that for you too. It's a little extra work but that way you have the prefold absorbancy without the pre-fold part. And then you could either attach aplix or snaps for super easy on and off or try your hand at a snappi.

Re: what to use on a newborn? (help!!)
these are all awesome suggestions
thanks so much!I actually have about 8 of the VB's AIO's...I want more, but am holding off for size smalls next.. I ended up buying 9 of the kissaluvs 0's off a mama yesterday, and the hemp inserts sound great! WHere canI find those in nb size to fit the KL0's? I'll check out the other ones mentioned, but so far this is what I have... 8 Very Baby AIO's size xs 4 BG 1.0 10 kissaluvs 0's 1 unknown AIO , probably wahm (i'll try and post pics when I can to see if anyone knows the maker)...got it for trade. 2 monkey toe fitteds xs 1 very baby fitted xs 1 SPB fitted w/doubler newborn size ok...so thats....27 diapers? ( am I counting right? )someo f those fitteds look HUGE though for a NB, so I may notbe able to use them until we are moving ito size smalls, so I'll go check out the other sites listed ![]() I also have 2 sets of longies...I am thinking of another regular cover over the fitteds...maybe a kiwi pie? (do they make those in NB size I wonder? )I definately want the doublers for the KL0's too so I have that to grab still. I am thinking I may get 3 more diapers in this size,...the AIO's probably then call it good, thats 30 diapers,...SURELY that will be all I need for washign every 2-3 days right? ( I usually go every other day, but with a nb...I am assuming it will be more like 2.5-3 on bad days )imommy about the prefolds comment! I know I know, but seriously, with all I have going on( and will have!), and dh to boot I am like X on the prefolds...I know, I am a prefold pooper aren't I?

Re: what to use on a newborn? (help!!)
I just ran across these NB doublers. haven't tried them but they look good. KL's doublers don't fit KL 0's... Plus these are stay-dry...

ah!! yep! I found these also... http://www.betterforbabies.com/diaperaccessories.html which do you think would be better? the wipes ( about 4-5 items down, the hemp wipes) are made with terry hemp... so wdyt would be better as far as absorbency AND size wise. I know with hemp you get less bulk ![]() But either way they run about a $1.50 EACH which is good

Re: what to use on a newborn? (help!!)
Although I used mostly prefolds w/ no snappi/pins w/ #1, I plan on using more fitteds w/ #2 coming is just 12 days! My 16 m. old waist is too wide even for the toddler sized snappi
The ones that I really like so far for fitteds on a nb are Muttaquins. They are adorable, super soft, and have colored interior so I don't have to worry about stains as much. I don't think that Kiki's come in nb size. http://hyenacart.com/MuttaqinBaby/index.php
