The good part I see of it is that it is made so it is easily wiped off.

And good deal on craigslist.

Who knows, by the time I have another I might love them. At this moment though I couldn't justify spending $45 on what is essentially a plasticy/foamy seat ...

I bought one on ebay for ds but I think he was too old for it and didn't like being confined. Maybe on a baby smaller than ds was I would like it, but not for an older baby.

Re: Opinion on Bumbo's?

We got one, my DS wasnt too thrilled with it. Some babies don't love it...
They are dangerous though if put on the counter or table. I know of some moms who do that, as my son was always able to "pop" out of it, and he was never a skinny baby.

Maybe you shouldnt knock something you have no experience with. We have mint colored one we paid $40 for from target and seriously its one of the only baby items DD likes. She hates the swing, not a bouncer or exersaucer fan.. but she loves her Bumbo. We get much more use from the bumbo than we do all the other stuff put together. We also use it at times as a feeding seat for our 17 mo old.. works great for that!

Don't have one but want one. I can't justify spending the 60$ cnd for one and hoping to snag a deal on a used one.

They're not for me, but I do know a few people who like them.

Re: Opinion on Bumbo's?

At 4 months old, my DS was able to "pop" himself out of it, as well as a friend of minds baby who is 5 months old can do that also. Totally dangerous and scary procuct if you ask me.

I had to find out the hard way. I was taking a shower and had him in it , and he just arched his back and came right out. Luckily, he wasn't hurt. But I know some mamas who put their babys in them on top of the kitchen table or whatever, very scary if you dont' know!!

My son is 18 months now, and he will sit in it occasionally now. I never recommend them for younger babys and I don't know why they haven't been recalled, honestly.

on top of the counter
we used ours on the livingroom floor, once she was able to crawl she would pop herself out of it, they can flip out of the seat if left unattended too.
i got mine for $36 2 years ago from a mama online, i love them!

Re: Opinion on Bumbo's?

I paid the $60 Canadian and love the Bumbo. Little dude loved it while he was small, and it was great when he was first learning to take solids.
