Question Breastmilk stains! Help!

So this is kind of a weird question I guess, but how can I avoid getting milk stains on all my shirts and bras? Whenever I leak (which is pretty frequently) I end up with a dark stain where the milk spot was. My sister said she never got milk stains! Do I just have crazy milk?? I don't want to ruin any more shirts!

Hmmm, I don't get stains either, but I would recommend Shout Gel. It works for my Boys' stains.

Are you using any kind of nursing pads in your bra? I never had a problem with my milk going all the way through to my shirt... But it makes sense that it would stain, since there is fat & protein in the milk... I'd try something like Oxyclean, then a regular stain remover.

Yeah I use nursing pads, I change them probably two or three times a day. Something must be different about my udders because my milk leaks so much... and I let down probably two to four times in a single nursing session.

For me it isn't that I leak through but when he is nursing and pulls off milk goes EVERYWHERE! I am just going to have to grin and bear it and then throw away these shirts after I wean.

i've had success taking out bf spit up stains with dawn. i let it sit on there for 15-20 minutes and then wash like normal. a couple more stubborn ones i soaked with dawn and water for an hour or so.

My bra gets stained but not my shirts I dont know why. I do wash my clothes with tide maybe thats why. I would try stripping your shirts.

Re: Breastmilk stains! Help!

i feel ya! if i don't wash it right away it stains. and i don't wash anything right away, so i wear a lot of black. i leak all of the time all over everything. baby clothes are my big problem, he pulls off and i soak him. i really avoid white. i wash diapers most of all, so i have yet to stain one with bm, and i do have to change sometimes because i have soaked the dipe from the outside, so i think washing within a day helps.
