Question gdipes like sposies' absorbancy?

Are gdipes close to sposies in absorbancy? We still use sposies at night and if we know we're out and about for a while. . . well, I'll use fitteds with a doubler but DH DEFINITELY would prefer a sposie!

I have only used the inserts that come w/ G dipes a few times. For us, Eden really does need changed every 2-2.5 hours wether she is in cloth or a G-dipe. No difference for us. However, you can layer another insert for night time use. But seeing as how Eden pees through a sposie at night, I know she would obliviate a G dipe in not time flat. Im sticking with our Baby Beehinds/wool for night!

For us the gDiaper inserts seemed somewhat less absorbant than a sposie. But on their website they have recomendations for how to use two inserts for nighttime. I think you roll one up like a burito and lay it on top of the other one in the wet zone (so in front for boys and lower for girls).

HTH!

I love the covers, but the inserts aren't worth much, or at leastb they weren't for us. They just seemed to get all smooshy and bunched-up when they got wet, and never lasted more than 3 hrs. I've sold all my g stuff now, but will get more for the next baby.

Re: gdipes like sposies' absorbancy?

I put Jonathan to bed in one last night. I put a flushable in to see if it would hold more than the other dipes I have tried ( he always soaks through everything and wakes up with red marks on his legs and cries). We slept late.. he was in it for about 11 hours... he was still dry when I checked him when I went to bed at midnight... this morning when we got up he was only slightly wet on one little tiny section of the top side of the diaper! My bed was DRY!!!!

I dont know if it was just a fluke or what.... but that flushable was HEAVY with pee! I am going to use it again tonight and see if we have a repeat performance! I cant compare it to a sposie as I havent used sposies in almost 5 years... I can only compare it to my unsuccessful search for a cloth diaper to hold up to him at night.

They say to use 2 inserts at night. I don't use the inserts, so I'm not sure. I used them last summer, for a week. But never through the night.
