Re: heat rash
I think that's all you can really do. Keep her cool. The pf w/ no cover is a good idea. Ethan gets it in the summer and it takes about 3 days to go away, maybe more. My friend's friend (nurse) said that to keep them cool and just in a diaper at home. that's about it! do you use any fitteds? that might help w/ poo leakage.

Re: heat rash
This is the EXACT reason I invested in a dozen motherease sandys. They are amazing for poo containment, with a doubler are pretty absorbant, but they are cheap and perfect for going coverless at home.
During the summer DD HAS to be in something breathable or she gets an AWFUL rash too. We do fitteds and wool while out.

Re: heat rash
I bought a few Dream-Eze fitteds in the seconds sale specifically for going coverless during the summer. Love them! They really contain the poo. I haven't tried going coverless with a prefold yet. The only other thing you could try is more naked time. HTH.
