I really don't think that it would be fair to take any of the 11 year olds money. It's his now. Obviously I wouldn't allow him to buy something that I would object to normally.

Regarding a PS2, you can get them used for cheaper, and if you go to Game crazy (at Hollywood video) they give you 12 free game/movie rental coupons when you buy used units.
