BumGenius Tabs -- HELP

Two of my BG tabs are fraying. One of them is the side with the crossover loop, and the other is the opposite side. I have dyed the one, and the other was washed with a dipe that bled so I really wouldn't expect Cottonbabies to take them back. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. And if there were any suggestions on what to do. I'm afraid if I sew it, it will just ravel even further.

Re: BumGenius Tabs -- HELP

My sister has a BG that is doing that! Mine aren't fraying yet but I noticed that it looks like it wants to! My inserts are already coming apart as well. I haven't had them long....

I'm starting to wonder how long they will last?

I would contact cotton babies anyway, she may not take them back but it never hurts to try. Besides dying shouldn't affect the integrity of the dipe, should it?

Exactly! I'd contact CottonBabies. They know that is an issue with some of their dipes regardless of the dying. I'll bet they'd replace it anyhow. I don't think they are re-selling the ones that are returned to them with defects, so I doubt they'll care if it's dyed, or stained, or not.

I would contact CottonBabies too. They may not take it back, but they need to know how their product is holding up for you. If others have had the same problem, maybe they need to change the brand of aplix that's used on future batches or something.

Re: BumGenius Tabs -- HELP

Yeah, it's not that uncommon of a problem (at least on the older versions I *think*). I have the same problem with the one I dyed orange. And it happened before I dyed it. It actually helped me throw caution to the wind and try the dying b/c I wasn't thinking of sending it in to be replaced. I had already sent one back and this WAS the replacement - but that was before the latest version came out. Anyhow, the shipping adds up over time, so I just thought I'd keep it and maybe repair it myself (replace the tab entirely) if I had to. But now I am rethinking it since this BG has only been worn about a dozen times. Anyhow, I would be curious to hear what CottonBabies tells you. Be sure to let us know. I just wrote to them about mine too, so I will post their response as well.

Nah, don't worry. I think it is more a problem with the older styles. But correct me if I'm wrong on that. Anyway, so far everything I've heard about CottonBabies standing behind their product has been really good. I think it is a relatively rare occurance, but since there are so many of us that hang out in one place it SEEMS more frequent when it's really not. KWIM?

I would just worry with it being dyed they wouldn't replace it because it says to wash on warm, and you have to boil the water to dye it, right? Just a thought...

If they don't take it back... I wonder if FrayCheck would work? That supergluey stuff they sell in the craft department that keeps ribbon or other fabrics from fraying. I'm considering putting it on mine as a preventative measure, KWIM?
