If they don't take it back... I wonder if FrayCheck would work? That supergluey stuff they sell in the craft department that keeps ribbon or other fabrics from fraying. I'm considering putting it on mine as a preventative measure, KWIM?
Well, it is near boiling, that's true. But I read on the CottonBabies forum when BGs first came out that Jenn herself had tested them by boiling them and they survived it just fine. So she'd know that wasn't the cause. But you never know. It might violate the exchange policy regardless.

FrayCheck sounds like a great idea. I've never used it before, but it definitely sounds worth a try. Good idea!

Re: BumGenius Tabs -- HELP

Thanks ladies, you confirmed what I felt that I should do. Jen has always been great, so I guess I'll go and contact her. First i'm going to go check all of by BG's to make sure that there are only two that are fraying. One of mine was the grasshopper color. So it isn't just the old styles. I'll update when I get an answer.

Re: BumGenius Tabs -- HELP

Okay, got my answer from CottonBabies (shown below). So in brief summary, they would replace my diaper for any manufacturer's defects regardless of the dying. HOWEVER, they don't consider fraying of the tabs a manufacturer's defect (unless frayed in the extreme ), so that alone will NOT be sufficient for an exchange for a new one.

Well, I definitely have FrayCheck on my list of things to buy now and will probably do the same as rebeccah5 and use it as a preventative on my newer BGs. Mine only took about 10 washes before the tab frayed pretty good, so I sure hope they address this problem for future BGs being made.

care of your diapers properly. I expect the construction of the diaper to be
solid though. If the stitching is coming undone, that is a manufacturing
defect and we'll be glad to take care of replacing any diapers with any issue
like that. Some diapers may have slight fraying at the end of the hook/loop
tabs. This is not a defect, it is just the way the end of that hook/loop may
wear. Under normal circumstances, the slight fraying on the ends of the tabs
doesn't affect the usage of the diaper in any way. If a customer has an
exceptional situation, we'll be glad to address those concerns on a
case-by-case basis.

Please let me know if there is anything else we can do to help. Have a great
day!

Kindest Regards,

Jenn

Hrmmm... I'm wondering if it is worth my emailing her. On one of my grasshopper colored ones, the two parts of the foldback tab have come completely apart.

Yes, it is worth emailing me. If something is coming off, that isn't right. Please do.

Thanks,

Jenn

I am waiting on a second e-mail from Jen. Hopefully she will take atleast two of mine back. I also have a grasshopper that the velcro and crossover have completely pulled apart all the way to the stretchy tab. I don't feel comfortable enough to fix it on my own. So, i'll let you know what she says. Fingers crossed!

I also sent her an email about my grasshopper one so we'll see. It also turns out that one of mine is an old style.

Re: BumGenius Tabs -- HELP

I'd love to know if someone tries the fraycheck and it works. I've got one old bG that was a tester from last year. I've dyed it and I don't expect her to replace a free tester, kwim? So, I'm thinking about gluing the aplix back down.

Re: BumGenius Tabs -- HELP

I have onlu one BG and it is the grasshopper color. Only had it for maybe 6 weeks? the tab on the left of the diaper(baby's left) is fraying..I was actually going to post asking about it when I saw this post! So do I understand then that I cannot get it replaced? Guess I will not be looking for more then...but I really like the fit on Lachlan so I am kinda bummed.... Seems to me that this should not be considered normal wear after so short a time on a dipe that is supposed to be used over 2 or 3 years...
