Re: Anyone else with Hearing Impaired child?

One of our DDs was born with an ear tag which makes her a high risk for hearing loss. She has to get tested every six months until she turns 3. She just had her 6 month test and passed, but we still have a long way to go before we know for sure.

Thanks! At what point did they really start to discuss what actions they would take? My DS had had the BAER which verified that he is HI and saw the ENT and I was just told its cognitive and come back in 4-6 months?

My Mom is deaf in her right ear and really wants a Baja! For some reason her insurance will pay the initial visit just to see if you qualify or whatever, but woudn't actually pay FOR the Baja?!
Though they said my sons HI is not genetic.
I'm really curious about at what age did they start talking about options? They just told me to come back in 4-6months(ENT)?

Wow! My DS will be 6 months next week! I'll definatly be talking to his pediatrian about this! They said they wouldn't worry unless his development seems to become delayed?
