What was your first pp AF like?

I *think* I got my first AF yesterday since 2005. We are 8.5 month pp and still nurse all night long (emphasis on ALL NIGHT ).

My boobs were sore for a few days this week, more than just the nipple. Almost aching and lumpy ? Just sore. I've had fleeting "aches" where I remember I used to have cramps (it's been so long... haha). And i've been lightheaded and dizzy - which is weird.

Then, yesterday morning I wiped (sorry TMI) and there was blood, so I'm wearing a pad but it's just spotting. I was really under the impression that the first AF would be a DOOOZY and it would be Very heavy and crampy. This came out of nowhere... no cramps....and the blood is brown.

Just wondering what others have had for their first AF...

Only mine came at 12 weeks PP despite fulltime nursing...

sounds similar to mine, I had mostly brown spotting, LOTS of cramping (but I have severe periods anyways) and several bloody floods

Has anyone noticed their milk supply decreasing when they have their period? I thought I read somewhere that it does, but oddly my milk supply seems bigger? Or maybe my boobs are just swollen?

I didn't notice a change in supply but I'm not all that in tune with my body so I'd probably need a neon sign...

mine were swollen but my milk supply wasn't affected

my sister gets a dip in her supply with AF

I would have expected worse as well! I just got mine on Monday. It was almost exactly like the ones I had before I conceived. I was prepared for a REALLY heavy AF....stoocked up on pads etc....but it really wasn't that bad!

I had a serious drop- I was pumping 4 oz a session and would go down to 2 a week before af. Then after the cycle started I was back to 6 oz. It all came back 8 weeks pp, but I was pumping round the clock. The out of nowhere I skipped a month

I got AF back 8 months after DS was born. It was pretty light...but the PMS leading up to it was a doozy. I was raging at DH for 2 solid days and then started AF and realized that maybe I had been a little influenced by PMS.

But the period itself was not much. I only had 3 periods before getting preggo again and haven't got it back yet -- but those 3 were so easy. I didn't even cramp enough to take 1 Aleve, and I used to take 3 at a time.
