5 xs fuzzi bunz
2 happy cheeks

6 premie prefolds

any suggestions on what else I need to get? How many diapers should i have to wash around every 2-3 days or is that not possible with a newborn? I want to get my newborn stash finished so i can start buying a few smalls of harder to get stuff. Any advice would be appreciated

Re: what else for my nb stash?

IMO, you'll need more wool. NB's have plenty blowouts, if nursed anyway. Since Luxe are so hard to get, you miht try the xs Rumpknits. Aso love Naturekins, got some cute stuff this week from Design of Grace, and knitted is always good.

Re: what else for my nb stash?

I'd suggest getting a dozen infant prefolds and some cheap NB wool, nothing fancy, b/c as the PP mentioned, there will be blowouts. The infant prefolds are great to have so that in case the baby is big, the preemie prefolds won't work for too long and the last thing you want to be doing is buying boring ol' prefolds at 2 weeks pp! Prefolds are always handy, and for those times when you have many diaper changes in a couple of days, you may want to have them just as backup so you never have to worry if you have enough dipes. That way also, you're not FORCED to do laundry even if you really need a nap instead!!!

Congrats!

ETA: if you have a couple of snappies, that might help too. Also, IME I'm not too particular about things like this (and we ended up ECing anyway) and I definitely didn't keep a cover over DD at.all.times. You can always squeeze by with fewer covers if you don't ALWAYS use them. If you snappi on prefolds, that will get you through the day, and then you can enjoy your cute fitteds more since they won't be covered!!

Re: what else for my nb stash?

I would definately get more covers. I was washing poopy wool every day those first few weeks. I would even suggest getting a couple of PUL or fleece covers to have on hand just in case. They are cheap, so it wouldn't put a huge dent in your pp.

I think about 10 more diapers would probably allow you to wash every 2 days. I would get a dozen infant prefolds, since they will fit from birth on up.

Re: what else for my nb stash?

Yep, snappis work from birth on up. Also, looking back, I wish that the trimmed prefolds were an option at first (they weren't really available then, weirdly enough, it was only 13 mthgs ago!). I think if I had your stash thus far, I'd probably buy 12 trimmed infants and 12 normal infants.... but you could do 6 and 6 if you don't think you'll be enamored with pf's. We always liked them b/c they were cheap and reliable and easy to wash.

oh, and yeah, fleece covers are great! They still breathe well, but are MUCH easier to do than wool. In fact we started with wool after about 2 mths or so b/c our DD was a super pooper, and it was just more work than I wanted to do.

Re: what else for my nb stash?

I would get the nb WWBs. They feel really good on the outside and don't leave red marks on baby's legs. I really liked my nb/sm Loveybums fleece wrap, too, but it did not have the cutout for the cord stump. It fit until about 13 pounds, though, so it has a wide range.
