Re: Sell me on Baby Beehinds!

The care instructions say to wash in warm. I wash my dipes in hot... that is what has kept me from trying them.

Re: Sell me on Baby Beehinds!

These have a warrenty! I got a bamboo one from natures nappies (super fast shipping and awesome customer service, btw). I washed it hot because we go to the laundromat and have to do all the dipes together. One layer of the fabric was cut a little too short and started to unravel from not being under the serging after the second washing. I sent it back and a brand new one arrived quicker than I expected!

BBH are the softest, most absorbant, trimmest, and adjustable dipe I've ever used! I wish I could afford a whole stash of them! You want one for sure!

I can't wait to use mine! Just got it yesterday and washed and dried it today so tomorrow we will see! I just have to read the directions and figure out how the little snapins work!

Re: Sell me on Baby Beehinds!

They also recommend to dry on low - "NEVER ON HOT" in the care instructions. I wonder why? I wonder if it's the elastics they use. They recommend line drying them, but say if you want to dry in the drier you should only do it on low. That scares me. Will the elastics go quickly if dried on hot? Or are they just woried about shrinking?

ETA: I wonder how long it would take to line dry such an absorbant diaper. Anybody know?

I line dry outside and it just takes the full day...no longer than my BG AIOs take to be honest.

Nature Nappies said (on the pin) that it's because of the bamboo shrinking that they need to be dried on low.

Oh, that's good to know! Shrinking wouldn't be as big of a deal as failed elastics. IME bamboo/cotton fleece will shrink about 10% in length and 5% in width. Not bad if your babes are on the skinny side anyhow.

BTW - I heard they are changing their product soon to 10% poly. Anyone else heard this or know when it will happen?

Just read on the pin that it's only the outer layer going to poly tho.
I agree, they will be less absorbant, but if it's only the outer layer they should still be pretty good.

Still, I HATE polyester in my wash because it can hold stink where my natural fabrics (even my hemp) does not. So I would definitely go for the no-poly ones too.

Oy, good to know about the change in fabric. I'm waiting on my first one of these to arrive, and if I love it, I may buy a few more before the change happens.

Everyone seems to love these so much. Why change a good thing?

Oh, and FWIW, I remember reading on another thread that you do NOT need to wash on warm unless your water heater is set over 140 (or if you have one of those sanitizing washers that heats the water hotter than your heater does). That's the magical temp you should not exceed, and few people have their water heater that hot.
