Angry Thanks for NOTHING Swaddlebees "customer service"

This post may look a little farmiliar if you have read Melisa's (Lovebeingamommie) recent post about her experience with Swaddlebees customer service.

What really upset me when I read her post was Margarita's reply saying that no other customer had ever complained about the limited edition minkee pockets She LIED. I have 2 of them that have the same exact kind of wicking problem through the leg casing. Because we have a large rotation, and rarely used the diapers, it took me a few uses of each trying them with different inserts and at different times in order to conclude that the diapers are defective. After hearing from other DS mamas that they were having the same problems I decided I should send and email to Swaddlebees about the problem and see what they had to say... well here is what I said and what they had to say...

hi there,

I have 2 of the minkee testers with athletic wicking material, one is the zebra and the other is the purple. I love the fit and look of these diapers but they wick around the leg seems pretty badly, to the point where I can't use them. I was just wondering if there is
anything that can be done or if they can be replaced?
Thanks for
your time.

My daughter is 12 months, tall, solid but not fat, 23.5lbs and these are mediums. I know it's not a fit problem, they are wicking right through the minkee around where the leg elastic is sewn in, even when double stuffed with both swaddlebees seconds inserts, or any kind of inserts I have tried. Here is a picture of her wearing the purple one so you can see how well it fits:

Hi Lisa,

Yes I have tried stripping them and drying on hot, I would not bother to waist your time if I hadn't tried everything I could think of first. It's pretty obvious as you suggested that the wicking is
through the needle holes, perhaps the wrong kind of thread was used by the manufacture when these were made? I suspect the wicking has always been a problem, although I only noticed it in the past few months, as my DD is not a heavy wetter, and we have a large rotation of regular swaddlebees pockets that we use, so it was not often that she was wearing one of these diapers when she really peed.

Is there anything that can be done about these diapers, can they be repaired or replaced?

thanks for your time,
-Kaela

I'm sorry, but our policy stands.

Thank you,
Lisa

So um yeah, they have had more than one complaint about these diapers, and all they can do is give the runaround and waiste my time writing 10 emails back and forth, then at the end finally say, sorry we have a policy about that

You know the diapers are bad when even DH says "what's wrong with this diaper, why's it all wet around the legs? These diapers suck, don't buy anymore."

At the very least I will take this as a learning experience, if ever I have a to email a company about a problem with a diaper, I sure as heck better start out by telling them all the important info like my child's age, size and measurements

I doubt they'll be getting any orders from DS regulars after reading these mama's stories. Def. won't be getting any of mine!

I'm sorry things didn't work out for you.

Re: Thanks for NOTHING Swaddlebees "customer service"

Hmmmm.... not good service. A LONG time ago, when I had an issue with some SBs diapers I had bought wholesale for my business, SB's cs was GREAT! The customer who had bought them was having terrible leaks, and when I emailed Margarita she was so great about it and offerred to replace the diapers even though they were not even defective... just not the right fit for my customer. This was over $100 of pockets she was willing to just replace. Its really upsetting to see such a drastic change in policy.

I'm not sure why you linked Blueberry to SB's in your email... are they having the diapers made in the same factory? I know that Blueberry was started by Margarita... but is that the only connecting link between the defective diapers?

Sorry you are having such a crummy experience...

Kaela, I'm sorry, that bites. On the plus side, that's an adorable pic of Whilder even if you can't use the dipes.

Re: Thanks for NOTHING Swaddlebees "customer service"

Please post on the juicy apples list.

I actually sent them an e-mail on Friday & am waiting to hear back (about diaper I received as gift for DS from MIL. They leak something terrible around the legs but they're not the minkee).
