Question what do you think of this?

http://www.ezcom.com/tots.htm

Jacy is a very active sleeper and she is not ready for a toddler bed. I would co-sleep but she tosses so much that I have a hard time sleeping. ANy ideas? She just fell out of her crib so this has to happen asap!

I wanted to get something like that for ds1, but dh said no. I think if she's not ready for a toddler bed, but she's falling out of the crib....as long as the crib tent has been safety-tested...I'd say go for it!

Crib tents are very safe. They work great for LOs that aren't ready for a toddler bed and climbing out of their cribs. I would get it!

Re: what do you think of this?

not sure...but dd is 20 mths and JUST now learned how to climb out of her crib...HOWEVER her daddy taught her the RIGHT way to climb out of it and where to put her feet, so she's pretty much a pro at it now. We're ready for a toddler bed though so we'll get that soon.

If it's safe and that's a better route i'd go for it.

My dd isn't at the point mentally to teach her that. I guess it is safer...

We taught ds's how to safely get off the couch by showing where to swing their feet over and slide off....ds1 was only...probably 7 months old when we taught him that...I didn't think he'd learn it and I thought dh was crazy for suggesting it, but he (ds) surprised me

Re: what do you think of this?

I don't love them. Me & DH thought about it but discussed other safely aspects of them... I'm sure they are safe, safety tested, etc... but they just don't sit totally well with me.

And while I'm sure it's not something we'd have to worry about more than like 1%, if that, but I didn't want to have to fumble through it if I had to get DS out in an emergency situation - fire, storm, break-in, etc. And we have dealt w/the latter of the 2 since he's been born.

Once it became a problem, we decided toddler beds were a waste & our option was to get a twin bed & put it on the floor. We've got him to the point where he'll stay in his bed at nap, then he gets up to play for like 30 mins or so before calling/crying down to mommy. He has a baby gate up in his doorway.

At night when he goes to bed he generally lays down & goes to sleep w/his little aquarium crib toy that was on the crib & presses it to play music as he wants it & I give him an animal & a book or two. Every now & again he'll climb off the bed but honestly he's only done that when we've put him down earlier than normal. Even then, he plays for a few, then crawls up into his bed & falls asleep.

This was our solution and worked great for us. We are all comfortable with it & it's working out well. I think maybe he was just feeling confined & he's happier now with his space & being able to get out & play when he wakes in the morning & after naps. He used to cry when he woke up & now he's happy go lucky & does his thing for a bit!
