Am I expecting too much from my interlock?
????
Here's the deal. I put DD in a nice fitted...and she soaks right through it within an hour. She's had a lot of fluids (12oz) in the past hour. I change her diaper because her soaker is, well, soaked. In the crotch area, the soaker is pretty damp. Damp enough to leave imprints on her cribseats. If the fitted is pretty wet, the snap area is wet and the whole fitted is pretty wet...would you expect your interlock to do what mine did? Just wondering if I'm expecting the unexpected? Thanks mamas!

if her diaper is that soaked then yes sometimes that will happen. Just lanolize it again but it will only hold so much

Re: Am I expecting too much from my interlock?
Depends on the interlock...some of mine is a lot thicker (so I guess more felted) than others, like my Woolybottoms ones. Others like my Luxe and DNF are thinner, and I only consider them day weight and not nightime or naptime worthy usually.
Or if your fitted is getting that wet, I would say to try a more absorbant fitted which would help out as well

Good to know that it's somewhat normal.

Seems normal, esp if her fitted was that saturated...

Re: Am I expecting too much from my interlock?
That's normal. Your cover is only as good as the diaper underneath. If the diaper is sopping wet than the wool is going to start absorbing the extra. Either use a more absorbant dipe or change more often. That happens to us when the boys drink apple juice. For some reason it seems to triple in their systems and we get major flooding. LOL

Re: Am I expecting too much from my interlock?
Is this happening with your Thumbelinas???????
Personally I'd expect the inside of the interlock to be wet with a soaked fitted. As long as you lanolized well, I dont' see why the crib sheets should be wet. Maybe relanolize the soaker? I like mine sticky with lanolin for the first use. For nap I'd have to put in a doubler or two with Sara's diapers under her interlock because it's just not enough otherwise. And personally, my wcw hold up better overnight because they have two layers int he "wet zone." The thumbelinas are thinner and more dayweight in my opinion.

Re: Am I expecting too much from my interlock?
Try a doubler in your fitteds. Ours are usually soaked after the night, but all of our pull-ups have an extra wet zone layer (DnF)--that combined w/ a doubler in the fitted keeps DD's jammies dry.

Thanks!!!!! It's so frustrating starting something new. I'm sure in a few weeks I'll look back and say "pffft".
