Re: WHY do mamas sell items for double or more than they paid?

I used to think like Rachel...it's theirs now...let them do what they want. But when someone charges QUITE a bit more the previous owner just feels used and taken advantage of. A dollar or two then I wouldn't even waste my time PMing her...that's not a big deal. But upwards of 5 dollars! Are you kidding? In my many, many transactions I've NEVER had someone ask me to come down 5 bucks on an item. And I've sold TONS. Really it shouldn't be something we get mad at but it sucks when you feel used. (or when you PM the mama and she doesn't change it or only a tiny, tiny bit)

Re: WHY do mamas sell items for double or more than they paid?

Its frustrating, personally I keep a spreadsheet of everything I buy, sell or trade so that I know what I have paid for an item when it comes time to sell. I have had people that I gifted items to sell them and had people selling things that I gave them a great deal on for way more than I initially asked. At first I pm'd (about the gifted items) I was ignored... basically I just make a mental note not to do business with them again.
HUGS Sally, sorry that happened to you.

Hugs sorry that happened to you. I think it wrong but there isn't much you can really do when someone does that.

IMHO if you get a good deal, you pass that good deal along.

Maybe the person you are talking about doesnt remember what she paid for the item and is just selling it for what the going rate for that item is?

Either way, there is a thing called Karma and it will come back to her if she is selling them for more than she paid on purpose.
Yeah that! I luv this site. I am new and CD seemed so confusing at first. This site was sooo helpful and now I am hooked big time! It stinks that some people just don't get the whole philosophy of the site!

I never remember what I paid. To the same extent, I'd know if I was doubling the price that I was charging more, even if I didn't know the exact dollar amount.

Re: WHY do mamas sell items for double or more than they paid?

My memory is so bad I don't always remember what I paid for items (so the spreadsheet would an excellant idea for me!). I usually lower the price a little more than I would normally just to make sure I don't go over my original price!

Doubling the price is not cool IMO.

Maybe that momma tosses in some *freebees* or donates diapers somewhere with the xtra. I don't htink it is a huge deal, not a big enough deal that I"d worry about it, if I didn't think someone was ethical, I wouldn't deal with them in the future, kwim?

I agree....doubling the price is not cool.... I started a spreadsheet just so I would know what I was spending on my dipes so I would know for resale too.If I knew someone was completely unethical, I wouldn't deal with them either.
