Re: Can a doctor determine the gender?

I found out at 16wks 4 days it wasnt a scheduled U/S I had an appt that day and just asked for an ultrasound but it was with a ultrasound tech. And she was able to get me into her schedule.
I would ask for an ultrasound - I'm sure the Dr. could make a pretty good guess.

I found out with DD at 16 weeks. I hope you get to see your baby's gender! I know I would want to as well!

Re: Can a doctor determine the gender?

They told us DS was a DS at 15 weeks. I think it depends on the positioning of the baby and how clear of a shot they get at the goods.
Good luck!

Re: Can a doctor determine the gender?

Well, I'm home. The doctor does his own u/s instead of sending you away based on your insurance. So he went ahead and did one for me. He said it was a bit early to really tell but he would try. Unfortunatly little baby had other plans for us. Baby was sitting crossed legged and breech so there was no clear shot. Luckily my nice Dr said I can come back in 2 weeks for another U/s...hopefully then.

Re: Can a doctor determine the gender?

I found out at 29wks, 35wks & 21wks with my kids. It just depends on position of baby, skill of "interpreter" and the machine. I was told girls with each one & they were all right. Although #2 was a "maybe a boy 60% chance" when I was 20wks. Was too close to 50/50 for me, LOL.

I LOVE finding out the gender.
