help me pick a breast pump

I need to buy a breast pump that I can take to work with me to pump. I am looking at the Ameda purely yours, Playtex embrace, and Medela. Any recommendations?

My sister has the Pump In style and says it's excellent. I have an Avent manual and I love it.

I have been very happy with my Medela Pump In Style. You might check with area hospitals/birth centers. Sometimes they sell them at reduced prices.

You can't go wrong with either the Ameda or the PIS.

You might look into renting them before buying to see which one works best for you.

Medela. I've used the Medela PISA and a Medela Lactina (Hosp. Grade) and was able to get the same amount of milk. The PISA is a great pump.

I used my pump in style at least 3x daily Mon-Fri for a year and a half. Had baby #2 recently and still working like it's brand new. WELL worth every penny I paid for it!

Re: help me pick a breast pump

I voted PIS, I have one now and love it, but I had the purely yours w/ my 1st and liked it as well. I got about the same amount of milk w/ both. I guess they say for longterm the PIS holds up better, it is def. a heavier pump. I think the convienence of the pis pump having its own compartment is nice, w/ the pureley yours the pump unit only fits at the bottom of the bag, so you have to remove everything to get it out. But pricewise I paid about $300 for my pis advanced, I had gotten my purely yours online for $150 including shipping. Another thing I remember was I could use my one arm and hand to hold both sheilds w/ purely yours, w/ pis I have to use both hands, it must be the angle of the sheilds, we thought we were done after the first and got rid of a lot of stuff
