Re: help me pick a breast pump

I voted for the Ameda, I love it, have had it for about 3 months and have enough milk stored already for a couple of weeks of regular feedings, lol. I have also heard the new Avent Isis IQ Duo is fabulous, better than all the others. HTH.

Re: help me pick a breast pump

After my DD was born I had a rented Ameda and I didnt like it at all. I didnt have much luck at all with it. After my DS was born and he had to be in the NICU they gave me a medela to use and I had much better luck with the medela. I dont have any experience with the playtex but out of the two brands I have tried, I would go with the medela Good luck with pumping

Re: help me pick a breast pump

Id go with medela.. although i may be bit biased because its all Ive ever used. With DS (who couldnt latch on due to oral motor issues) I used a Medela symphony for the 2 months that I pumped for him and was happy with it. With DD I was able to get a Medela Personal Double Pump for free through medical assistance and its essentially a Medela PIS in a blue canvas bag (not as fancy).. Honestly it seems to work just as efficiently as the Symphony did.

I seem to be in the minority here, but I love, love, love my Ameda!

Re: help me pick a breast pump

I have been using my PIS for over a year total. I used it twice a day for 7 months at work with my second baby, and then for 9 months at home and at work with my third baby. Did a great job and I would buy another in a second if something happened to it.

Re: help me pick a breast pump

I just bought a Avent Isis IQ Duo, and I already love it. I get more, faster than I did with my hospital grade Medela Symphony that I've been renting. I don't know how it'll hold up to long term use, but since I work full-time and almost EP for ds I guess I'll find out.

Medela b/c its what LLL and LC's reccommend. The company supports LLL and gave me a grant to be a LLL leader.
