Re: Getting ready for baby- procrastinators post here!!

I have one week (although I'm starting to think it could be any day now) and I have to:

Pack hospital bag.
Clean house.
Get DH to install diaper sprayer.
Finish knitting baby blanket and soaker.
Lanolize other soaker I just finished.

That's all I can think of right now. Ow... I think I'm in the earliest stages of labor. Just give me a couple more days baby!

i need to finish my room (cleaned my brothers thismorning though..yeah that was helpful LOL)

oh ad someone decided to move all my stuff around PLUS stash whatever they wanted to in my room since ive been with my mom the past couple days so now i dont have a clue of where ANYTHING is except both my kids diapers.

umm...get out a few more outfits (there in spacesaver vacuum bags) and stick them somewhere accessible

get my clothes packed for hopefully the bc

find a shirt to go with the shorts i made, or just go with the first shorties/shirt outfit i was originally going to bring the baby home in!

Re: Getting ready for baby- procrastinators post here!!

Wow. Talk about an anxiety inducing thread!
Just this week I've been thinking about all the stuff we still have to do...

EDD 10/7/07

Clean out the rest of the nursery (there is stuff on all the built in shelving units).

Rip down the shelving units.

Buy and stain and hang new moulding and doors (both bedroom and closet doors). (Hubby will do that!)

Paint the room.

Buy material for my mom to make crib skirt, window valence, and teething rail.

Have mom make said things

Register.
Of course, to be able to do this I need to research all the things that I want... haven't a clue yet on the breast pump. Thought I had one lined up from a friend, but she decided to keep it. Grr.

Also need to find a glider/rocker... can't decide if I want a lazyboy chair though.

Buy NB cloth dipes. <---started this, but need more!

Wash clothes we already have.

Make meals for the freezer.

Deep clean the house so it's at least at a good starting point when we get home.

Sign up for and take birthing class.

Find daycare <---have a few leads...waiting on some phone calls.

Meet with HR rep to discuss maternity leave/disability/FMLA.

Preregister at the hospital.

Pack bags.

Make a "who needs to be called" list.

AWESOME!! Great job!!

Well, my mama is here helping me clean out this office and we are currently taking a break. We've only been working for about an hour and we have already cleared out 4 boxes of items to keep, 2 boxes to sell at our garage sale, and I have even moved out 1 small shelf!! I really need to take some pics to show our progress. I am so glad she is here to help me.

DH should be home soon from his run to help us out.

me, too! ack!

Also, some of you are reminding me of what I hadn't even though about doing yet but still need to! So while my heart is pounding and my palms are sweating at just how unprepared I am, all of you are helping me refocus and get a better list together. So thanks!

Re: Getting ready for baby- procrastinators post here!!

EDC is TODAY! (6-30-07)

I have to:
1. Complete work files (this is daily as they come in throughout the day, 24/7).
2. Clean office.
3. Clean house one more time.
4. Get the other kids to pack their distraction bags.
5. Have DH finish building the support structure for the baby hammock (he got sidetracked by a hamster funeral today).
6. Cut and serge baby wipes. We have a starter pack, but I want lots of extras.
7. Lots of work equipment upgrades, but those can wait. Shouldn't change the system on the way out the door anyway!

I have:
1. The cloth diapers purchased and prepped.
2. Bags are packed.
3. Carseat is installed.
4. Car is clean.
5. Baby clothes are clean and prepped.
6. Birth plan and prescriptions are in the overnight bag.

I'll post more later...I think that is it for now.

Re: Getting ready for baby- procrastinators post here!!

Okay, I am due August 12th. My father is bringing more crap for me on Monday (so he can get it out of his house). Anyway I just spent the last two mornings in the garage (on-going project) I now have to go get my tires rotated and oil changed in the car while DH puts the toddler down for a nap. I will make my list while waiting and then post. There is so much I have to do and we are already swamped with things to do. I have 6 weeks.
