Re: do you use baby powder in your CD's?

I never even thought to use powder. Interesting.

I *do* get a bit frustrated with the smell sometimes. I've tried everything under the sun to totally eliminate odors to no avial. Finally I decided to try a little tto dribbled onto a clean cloth napkin thrown into the dryer with my clean dipes.

Great success it worked!

Don't use it for smell- I use it because she got a heat rash recently and I figure it keeps her drier....I also use it to cover up ointment if she has a rash- I figure it doesn't stick to the dipe then.

Yeah, cornstarch powder is great! Talc powder is not so good. Just look for the Johnson's that specifically says "Cornstarch." ITA with OP, it's great for keeping ointment on their skin and off the dipe!

I love powder, but haven't used it once since we started cd'ing a few months ago. I wasn't sure if it was safe to use with the diapers or not. Is it ok to use? Does it effect them badly like ointments?

I'd love to use it again, I love the smell of it.

Ah yeah, its the J&J cornstarch that I use too. You guys should check out the California Baby stuff. Its pricier, but it has essential oils in it and stuff like that. I dig it. its made to help w/ diaper rash, so its made to be used on "privates"

I just did for the first time last weekend - we were camping and ds started getting heat rash under his diaper area, so I used some Burts Bees Baby Bee dusting powder and it worked like a charm!

I will use plain cornstarch from the kitchen if she's red, but not just because...
