I would make cloth trainers. I just think it's more cost effective
It's very normal from what I've heard to take up to 4-5 yrs to be night trained. I have made a few pairs from the darling diapers potty dance pants pattern and I love them! You can see them here : http://darlingdiapers.com/patterns.html (scroll down) and I made mine with PUL and without side snaps.

My DD is 6 and has to have something for night-time. We use Nap-Ez stuffed with a hemp Pre-fold. We call them her night panties. She LOVES them and it is much more cost effective than pull-ups. At this age we would actually be buying good-nites which cost even more. The Nap-Ez are so wonderful for this, the best thing I've tried.

definitely cloth trainers. you would only have to buy 2-3 because you can wash them when you wash the baby's diapers.
