Ds till a few months past his 3rd birthday. I was pregnant and there wasn't much milk so he lost interest. I let him decide and was so shocked he actually decided to wean! I'm now nursing dd at 4 months and will let her decide as well.

Yes, I totally agree with what true child-led weaning is. Part of why I put my experience with my second child separate - that was (obviously) not a CLW situation.

But the other three were all ebf and were not 'encouraged' by me to wean. As far as pacifiers go, yeah there's some differing opinions on that among some of the more 'hardcore CLWers"

. We just simply don't offer pacifiers until after the breast has been offered to avoid letting it become a substitute (my DS3 didn't even take a pacifier until he was 6mo) for the breast.

15 months and nursing through the day and night and not showing any signs of weaning... Most people I encounter think I am nuts for still nursing and say 1 year is the limit but I believe in self weaning and DD has them for as long as she wants

dd#1: 7 months only.

dd#2: self-weaned at 22months. hard ot argue with a child who screams "no mama, NO NACK!"

Ds#1 4 weeks due to latch issues and me not being educated enough to know I could fix it

Ds#2 EBF for 2 months than supplemented until 6months - I was working FT and didn't have a good pump but I did my best with my manual pump but would give him about 6 oz of bm a day and then ebf in the evening.

Ds#3 EBF for 17-18 months I can't remember when we actually stopped. I started making the transition to a sippy cup at around 16 months than we were totally done nursing by 18 months. Family and friends thought 18 months was too long and that I should have stopped at 12 months. With our next child I will do child led weaning and not listen to anyone!

DD#1 - 5 weeks
DD#2 - 6 months
DD#3 - 23 steady months...then 6 more months on days skipped....

I personally think for ME 3 years old is too old... I myself was BFed until I was 5. I also think it is dependent on the kid. When mama is uncomfortable...it is time to stop.

Our first son nursed till he was 21 months and then weaned on his own. Our second son is still nursing at 12 months but already starting to self-wean

(which is very bittersweet to me! I LOVE nursing my kiddos.
