Re: How long did you breastfeed?

My lil by will be 3 on August 3rd and is still a boobie baby , I am 14 weeks pg right now too , I do want him to wean soon though just because while I can tandem nurse the two I would rather just breastfeed the lil one , plus 3 years is awesome so I won't have a bit of guilt about not continuing with both .

i will nurse the boys until they are 2 yrs at least, and i weaned dd at 2 yrs. i did the bad-aids over the nipples method and just told her there were boo-boos and she pretty much never looked back. it was sad but it was time. now she's four.....now she wants to try and squeeze the milk out just for fun

Re: How long did you breastfeed?

ds I weaned at 7 months because he was going through a growth spurt and nursing non-stop and I thought it was because my milk had dried up after introducing solids (what the heck, I was 17) the twins self weaned at 23 months (thank goodness, I was ready)

Since seeing me pumping, DD has decided she wants to nurse again, so I am letting her, but trying to limit it to before naps and nights only b/c she is very obsessive about it! LOL! In fact, I will tell her she can have mommy's milk before night-night, when she asks, and she says, ok mommy, I go night-night now! I have a feeling she would nurse until she was in college if I let her- she is a boobie girl for sure.
wow, what a beautiful gift out of a tragedy. you are doign an amazing thing mama. I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

Re: How long did you breastfeed?

DD weaned with a little prodding at 27 months. DS is 22 months old and still going strong. I really don't know when I am going to wean him... He has a lot of food allergies (dairy, egg, peanut, & citrus) so even my dr. is recommending I continue nursing him (awesome doc!).

I wanted to nurse my girls for at least 2 years but both stopped on their own at about 18 months or so. There were things that possibly affected my milk supply and that caused them to wean though so I'm being very careful this time around and will see what happens.

As far as how long... A dr. I trust www.drjaygordon.com says to bf for at least 2 years if not more. I had a cousin who still went strong with her 3 year old dd. I don't see a problem with it. I'm very to each his own-ish, lol.

Re: How long did you breastfeed?

We are at a year and going VERY strong!

Before she was born, I said I'd wean at 12 months. Now that the marker has arrived, I'm actually HOPING she'll nurse another 6 months.

Neither of us are anywhere near ready to give it up. She still demands some boobie at least 6 times a day (lol).

Re: How long did you breastfeed?

1st - 17 months, I decided to stop
2nd - 6 months and still going...I am willing to go longer this time as I am (thank you Lord) able to stay home with my kiddos.

I think before 3yrs old would be my limit though.
